SERVICE POLICY
Here is all the info you should need, *Please read carefully* If you have any questions let me know. The standard repair service listed below has a 4 hour maximum labor charge per item. This does not include; custom projects, installations, some post festival cleanings (depending on severity) & restoration projects
STANDARD REPAIR SERVICE:
My service rate is $125p/hr with a 1 hour minimum (bench fee) The first hour is due during equipment drop off (per each unit dropped off) The first hour will cover the initial inspection of the item, getting prices, part numbers, and stock status from vendors if parts are needed. If the item can be repaired in one hour that’s all it will cost you. (Plus any part costs) If it’s going to be a more involved repair (more than 1 hour) I will contact you with an updated estimate on labor and parts status for you to approve before I move forward. Most repairs average 2 to 3 hours depending on the item & issue. If you deny an updated repair estimate, please remember the first hour is NON REFUNDABLE and your item will need to be picked up asap.
PRE & POST BURNING MAN / FESTIVAL SERVICES & REPAIRS:
My service rate for post Burning Man cleanings and repairs is $135p/hr with a 1 hour minimum (per each unit dropped off) The extra $10 p/hr is for the obscene amount of expensive cleaning products I use on these jobs. PLEASE understand that playa dust is terrible for audio equipment. It is next impossible to keep it out of your gear. Standard cleaning methods can usually NOT be used (air compressor etc) as the dust can move around in your equipment and cause additional issues that may have not been present before. It can also cause additional failures just from opening gear during the cleaning process. I am not responsible for any additional failures during equipment cleaning. If any happen, you will be notified asap with an updated estimate. These cleanings take time, and sometimes require gear to be taken apart more than once to complete the service thoroughly. Many internal components are removed and cleaned by hand during a deep cleaning. For Example: With no repairs needed, an average deep cleaning of a cdj is about 2 to 2.5 hours. An average cleaning of a dj mixer is about 3 to 3.5 hours. All in one DJ units average 2.5 to 3.5 hours, Speakers average 1 to 1.5 hours. Please keep in mind June-October is my busiest time of year. Bring me your stuff in the off season for a faster turnaround! If you bring me gear less than 30 days before BM I may not be able to turn it around before your departure.

I currently have an average of 3 to 4 week turnaround time on most repairs depending on my repair backlog, item issue, and availability of parts. This is an estimated time frame and is NOT guaranteed. Please keep in mind June-October is my busiest time of year.
PICKUP & DROP OFF ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY: This is a one man show over here, and I get very busy. If a time and date is scheduled for a pickup or drop off, I ask that you PLEASE arrive on the agreed day and time. My day can vary wildly with tasks, repairs, and other client / life responsibilities, so when these times change unannounced or last minute it’s not ideal. I have a waiting list of customers, so if your appointment time / day is not kept, I may be forced to move to the next person on my list and this can ultimately delay getting your gear on the bench.
I have VERY limited storage space! I appreciate you paying for and picking up your finished repairs as soon as possible after you receive an invoice. If repairs are not picked up or paid for within 1 week of completion, an additional storage/late payment charge or both may be added to your invoice total. Any completed repair jobs not paid within 30+ days of invoice date may be considered abandoned and become the property of Peak & Valley to possibly be sold to offset parts and labor costs involved
Local pickup & delivery of your equipment may be possible. Ask me for more info and rates
EXPEDITED SERVICE: (one weeks time or less) A one-time additional rush repair fee of $100 (due during drop off / per item) is available for a faster turnaround time and parts shipping if needed, but does NOT guarantee parts will be in stock with vendors. This fee will only move you up in the repair cue to be the next item on the service bench (expedited shipping will also be used on any part orders, as long as they are in stock with vendors)
PAYMENTS: Payment MUST be made in full before or during completed repair pickup or delivery. Your initial service deposit (Bench Fee) amount will be subtracted from your final invoice total. I do accept digital payments (Zelle) checks, and of course cash. Please contact for more info if you need other options
All labor performed is guaranteed for 30 days from date of pickup. Any pre-owned parts installed are not covered under warranty. Any new parts installed will be covered under the manufactures warranty. (Usually a min of 90 days) Labor on liquid damaged equipment is NOT covered under this guarantee
